Join Our Team

The Bexhill Family Collective aim to support people into work or education. One of the ways we do this is by offering Volunteering opportunities across our projects. Specific posts will be advertised below, but if you are looking to gain experience working with children, outdoors or in the community sector then please download our application form here, complete and email it to us.


Volunteering Posts


Collecting Food Donations: Tuesday evenings 8am - 10pm (latest) To set up tables, chairs and food service areas.


Setting up Community pantry: Sunday evenings 8am - 9.30pm. Collecting food from predominantly supermarkets. Fuel expenses paid.


Community pantry delivery: Wednesday mornings 9.30am - 11am. Display food and make last minute preparations. To attend a food service area and help people choose a restricted number of food items.


Community pantry café assistant: Wednesday mornings 9.30am - 11.15am. Serve hot/cold drinks, pastries/ cakes and biscuits. You will be required to undertake a food hygiene course for this role.


Community pantry Cashier: Wednesday mornings. To take money for entry into the café or pantry.


Outdoor adventures volunteer: To support our Forest School Leader in the delivery of our Outdoor Adventures sessions starting in February 2025.


Maintenance support: Generally weeding and maintenance of the area outside of Dragonflies Community Nursery. Once a week at hours to suit you.


Community garden volunteers: To weed, strim, plant, maintain and harvest our community garden. Volunteers usually attend weekly, and we are looking for people who can attend of different days of the week so we can open the garden as much as possible.


Forest school support volunteer: For children to visit the woods from Dragonflies Community nursery. You will accompany our Forest School Leaders and a small group of children to the woods to undertake Forest School activities. An enhanced DBS and references are required for this role.


Lunchtime support Volunteer: To help children at Dragonflies Community Nursery over lunchtime period. Daily 12-1pm (you do not have to attend every day, could be multiple roles). An enhanced DBS and references are required for this role.
