PRESTON ROAD ALLOTMENTS

Sidley's New Community Green Space
Situated off Watermill lane, within Preston Road Allotments, The Collective Garden is an ambitious project which enable local people to grow fruit and vegetables. We are keen to offer a range of workshops and activities which contribute towards learning new skills and improving physical and mental health.
- ALLOTMENT SESSIONS
- BUSHCRAFT ACTIVITIES
- WORKSHOPS FOR PHYSICAL & MENTAL WELLNESS
- LOW COST / NO COST FAMILY ACTIVITIES
The Plan
At Bexhill Family Collective, we empower local people and community groups to foster collaborative thinking to drive community cohesion across generations. Our vision is to create a community safe haven where all people can come together to spend time outdoors taking part in planting, growing, ecological, bushcraft and craft activities.
Our plan for the Community Garden involves utilising the land to its upmost potential, in order to create opportunities and provide solutions to the local community in the following ways:
COST OF LIVING
- Grow our own produce to support our community pantry
- Volunteers and partners can take a portion of the harvest for themselves
COMMUNITY WELLBEING
- We will run a range of groups and projects that encourage all people to work together towards a common goal.
- Our groups will include those designed to support social isolation, well-being and mental health difficulties.
SUPPORTING FAMILIES
- We will continue to offer on-site our community forest school and allotment sessions but will expand to include older generations.
COMMUNITY PRIDE
- We will involve local schools in the growth of this project, and as a potential school trip site
- We will work with other partners to provide youth services as much of the year as possible.

Donate to Support our Community Garden
As a not for profit organisation we rely on the generosity of our community. We are currently Crowdfunding to source funds to develop the Garden, with a target of £8000. Any money that we raise in addition to our target will be used to pay for making individual allotment spaces for community groups and resources to run weekly activities at The Collective Community Garden. We are grateful for donations of any size.
